What is the best thing about being an artist:
Manon Sander: “One of the greatest joys of being an artist is the opportunity to explore the world with paint and brushes. I relish traveling to other places to experience the unique light, scenery, and cultural traditions each location offers. Once I discovered that other artists share this passion for painting in new and diverse settings, I started hosting artist retreats and workshops nationally and internationally: I took great pleasure in taking artists to stunning destinations like the Amalfi Coast, the French Riviera, Tuscany and Umbria, as well as to beautiful spots within the United States, including Sedona, Savannah, and Vermont, and I am thrilled that the trips scheduled for 2025 to Portugal and the Le Marche region in Italy are already starting to fill up. I find it so rewarding to create a space where artists of all levels can connect, paint together, grow, and forge lifelong friendships, all while immersing themselves in the captivating aspects of places away from home.

On these trips we paint without the pressure to succeed, leading to more artistic freedom, an opportunity to experiment playfully with different mediums which results in artistic growth. It doesn’t get any better than this.”
