Right now, the Huse Skelly Gallery is celebrating its 19th Annual Just Plein Fun! Ten award-winning artists have gathered from around the country to paint scenes on and around beautiful Balboa Island in Newport Beach, California. The event takes place through August 2, 2024.
“Balboa Island is the quintessential summer vacation spot,” says participating artist Mark Fehlman. “I am enchanted by the wonderful mix of things like the junior lifeguards who congregate at the ferry in the morning to travel across to the Newport peninsula. Kids on the beach, sailboats, night lights, the frozen banana stand, and the families on the beach all make for fun and lots of colorful things to paint.”
